They feature piezoelectric tweeter which contains an active element that has been positively charged, Piezo speakers are much are less susceptible to overloading. These high-frequency drivers cope better and don't require any crossover. They feature a tiny half-inch silk dome Piezoelectric tweeter to effectively deal with high-frequency audio. Having separate types of speakers designated to different frequency ranges gives a more natural representation of sound, high-frequency sounds will often be tinny without a dedicated tweeter. JXL 1690R 6 inches is an ideal dimension for car door speakers, this set makes a pretty decent upgraded replacement with their additional tweeters. This pair of JXL 1690R 6-inch speakers have an impressive maximum output and they are incredibly low- priced for a high- class, 3-way set. Lightweight Rigid Cellular Aramid Fibre Matrix Woofer
The main speaker diaphragm on the 1690R is crafted from JXL’s unique Lightweight Rigid Cellular material, formerly known as MRC. The latest-generation compound has been further optimised alongside mechanical driver improvements, to deliver an even wider frequency response and smoother, more natural sound characteristics.
Optimal formulation
Embedding in a unique matrix with aramid fibres suppresses diaphragm resonance and minimises distortion, not only in the lows, but also in the mid and higher frequencies. The result is sound that is powerful at all frequencies and uncommonly clean, even at high volume.
Five-beam Frame Structure and Dynamic Air Diffuser
The Five-beam Frame design disperses resonance while the integrated Dynamic Air Diffuser ensures efficient air circulation for smooth cone travel and cooling of the voice coil.
Tweeters to hit the high notes
Compatible with High-Resolution Audio, a soft dome tweeter diaphragm is directly attached to the voice coil, designed to cover your music's ultra-high ends, with a frequency range extending up to 40 kHz.
Progressive Height Rate Spider
The acoustically optimised spider allows for higher power handling and airflow, with a profile designed for more rapid and precise cushioning of the speaker cone.
Phase plug
The resonance damping phase plug on the JXL 1690R woofer helps realise ideal frequency response, right up to the crossover point with the matched tweeters. A rigid aluminium bobbin and Dynamic Air Diffuser further support the speaker's wide frequency response, for controlled and dynamic bass delivery.
Bi-amp-capable crossover with gain selector
The audiophile-grade crossover features an optimal, lower-resistance film capacitor for smooth high-end. Its bi-amp-capable design mitigates current distortion to the tweeter when running the woofer with high input levels. A dedicated gain selector helps keep balance of woofer and tweeter signal levels, and enables tweeter level adjustment even when driving the components from a single amplifier.
